Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

The Uccelliera estate is located in the warm southern Castelnuovo dell'Abate part of the Montalcino zone. Despite his family's long connection to Montalcino, Andrea Cortonesi was only able to buy the Uccelliera property in 1986. His vineyards range from 150 to 350 meters above sea level. The Brunello is aged for 24 months in a mix of French and Slovonian oak.

Dark red with a pale rim. Ripe red cherry, licorice, underbrush and a hint of game on the complex nose. Ripe but suave, offering nuances of aromatic herbs and tar that complement spicy red currant and blood orange flavors.
