Portola Springs Vineyard produces our most austere and mineral chardonnay. 'Acid-freaks' should again be thrilled with the 2009 vintage. While it has a tad moreweight than past vintages, there is ample citrus fruit and the distinct 'crushed rock' character, present in all vintages. To once again reiterate -This is not a 'cocktail' Chardonnay, its structure and power demand food.

This was excellent—great balance of richness and acidity. Tremendous purity. Santa Cruz Mountains for the win once again

The complex citrus notes of this wine are stunning. Wonderful texture, minerailty and focused finish with serious length. Aromatics are a bit muted at this point, but the solid structure of this wine lets you know one day it'll release beautiful perfume. Cellar, cellar, cellar.

I know it's special but just too much acid for me.
