The Stone Corral Vineyard is a 28 acre site located in the Edna Valley that was planted entirely to pinot noir in 2001. The sandy clay loam soils of the vineyard produce elegant wines with plush texture and dark color. Rich cranberry in hue, the 2013 vintage of Stone Corral Pinot Noir is true to character. Aromas of candied apple, raspberry and a slight hint of kerosene show through beautifully. On the palate flavors of juicy plum and subtle sarsaparilla are complemented by a slightly smoky finish. With its sturdy structure, this medium-bodied pinot noir would pair wonderfully with grilled rack of lamb or beef tenderloin.
