Sassetti Livio Pertimali is a wine producer based in Montalcino, Tuscany, known particularly for its Brunello wines. Livio Sassetti was one of the founders of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino in 1967. Today the business is managed by his son Lorenzo. All Brunello di Montalcino wine is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown on the slopes around Montalcino - a classic Tuscan hilltop village 20 miles (30km) south of Siena. The word Brunello translates roughly as 'little dark one', and is the local vernacular name for Sangiovese Grosso, the large-berried form of Sangiovese which grows in the area.

Bought this to see what. 97 point wine tastes like ;-). Coiled but balanced. Very bright cherry fruit. Closed on the nose. Needs 3 years or so. Will either be a nice elegant drink or a great one. Hard to tell at this point. ... as this opens it’s getting super pretty. Cherry flowers. ... hints of cherry cough syrup. My gut is that this lacks the density to be truly epic but has the balance to be lovely for a long time. If the aromatics develop I could be convinced otherwise.
