A friend had a “reduction party” as he was needing to thin out his cellar. Definitely a party I’m happy to attend! They can be easy to razz, but the quality and age ability here is no joke. Drinking beautifully right now. Dried fig, ripe cranberries, toasted blackberries, saddle leather, herbs de Provence, and potpourri leap from the glass. Powerful yet elegant on the palate, revealing soft and warmed red and black fruits, bayleaf, and truffled mushrooms. Very enjoyable.

Again, a freakin steal and cheap enough at $184 for me to try Opus for the first time in a decade. This is a beautiful wine, so kudos to Michael Silacci. Yes you heard me, $184!!!!

Very nice Opus vintage, fruit had mostly faded but the cola, anise, coconut flavors are riding high. Nice tannic alcohol backbone balanced by some acid

Elegant, blackberry and spice. Subtle herbal notes. Nicely balanced but I was hoping it would be more expressive.

Fantastic, more towards a peak age than i thought it would be. This is drinking spectacularly right now, tasting like a vinous bordeaux. Extremely lengthy finish.
