Restrained, elegant expression of Tempranillo from one of the legendary fincas of Rioja. Mouth-filling texture carries notes of chocolate, cherry, vanilla and dry spices. Finishes long with velvety tannins and restrained acidity.

Had older vintages, the ‘07 was released in late 2015, great but still has time to bottle age. Decant 2 hours before drinking. Tempranillo with about 15% Mazuelo (Cariñena), concentrated bouquet of berry fruits with spice. On the palate cherry and plum flavors, well balanced for a difficult vintage. Lingering, crisp and focused, tight tannins ending with a mineral character and earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. Stock up on the ‘07, there is no ‘08, but ‘09, ‘10 & ‘11 will be released Wow! 900 cases US!

Another 4th Friday for the books! What a variety this month! Rioja wines have become my second love after Napa cabs. I swoon over these. The nose on a well made Rioja is enough to make me only smell from the glass and not even taste! This was no different. Sweet Coconut & dill on the nose with a peppery, tobacco, black cherry palate. Delicious.
