Larkmead Vineyards Firebelle Napa Valley Merlot Blend 2014
Historically a multi-variety blend, this wine has accentuated the soft, plush texture and flavor of Merlot, but highlighted the overall structure of Bordeaux varieties. Merlot at Larkmead, planted on rich loam soils full of clay and gravel produces Merlot that tastes like Merlot but acts like Cabernet. LArkmenad's goal is to allow this wine to express its density, weight and power while maintaining its attractive aroma and flavor profiles.

Such a great wine. Beautiful and structured. Takes a long time to open up - 5 hours before it expressed fruit openly. Speaks to a great future. When it did whoa. It felt like every sip was a new element. Spices, red fruit, blue fruit, floral, chocolate, and really well integrated tannin. @Ron R i can’t wait to share this with you.
