The 2011 Gallica Cabernet bottling is stylish, serious, and aromatically expressive. Tannins are remarkably fine. The elevated Oakville site performed beautifully, favoring notes of crushed rock, exotic cardamom, and the enticing perfume of oolong tea. The modest addition of Petit Verdot offers its usual signature of freshflowers and vibrant color. The GALLICA 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is drop dead gorgeous. Floral and expressive, it graces the palate with savory herbs, mint, red berries and flowers. The 2011 is all about nuance, complexity and understatement.

The aromatics on this are very expressive with well defined tannins and layers of dark fruit. This should be a show stopper in a few years but very approachable now with a decant.

Impressive. This is well executed Napa Cab from a challenging vintage. Tightly knit black fruits and fine tannins. It was great, even on the 3rd day open.

Good. Just really good Napa Cab. Thoroughly impressed and more proof that the '11 vintage has some rockin' wines.
