The 'Grandes Places' cuvee is produced in the place known as 'Les Grandes Places' above Verenay. This vineyard is mostly planted with old 'Serines' (traditional Ampuis Syrah). The main features of Cote-Rotie wines from the land in 'Grandes Places' are a strong structure, a nose of black fruits, a little bit rough too, very spicy and long-lasting in the mouth. These are wines to be served with game or very tasty red meat, once they have aged for a few years.
