'The wines of Sauternes are so wonderful that we wanted to have our own, and Rieussec's vineyard is outstanding' -- Baron Eric de Rothschild Chateau Rieussec has been a leading wine in Sauternes for several generations. Ranked as a Premier Grand Cru in 1855, it is made with a subtle blend of Semillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle. A long period of ageing in oak barrels was needed to round off this very powerful wine. Citrus and fresh fruit aromas combine with candied apricot and green almonds on the nose. Great length on the palate matched with lively, fresh fruit, and a strong impression of honey and acacia blossom.

Wow. So young but already so good. Electric acidity, beautiful layered flavor. What a way to end a meal.
