The 2010 Chateau Lascombes is a perfect example of a wine that combines complexity and power with elegance. Initially, the wine is discreet regarding its bouquet but then there is an explosion of black fruit aromas as the glass is swirled. A superb assortment of very ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and sun-drenched Bigarreau cherries intermixed with chocolate and mocha notes. The aromas emanate a wine with great complexity and lots of finesse. On the palate, the wine is fresh and sweet. All the wine?s power and structure is counter-balanced by its round, fleshy texture and its lively, elegant flavours. Underneath a velvet wrapping the fullness of the wine comes through immediately together with fine-grained, tight-knit tannins, that are characteristic of the 2010 vintage. Black fruit flavours and spices come to the forefront, followed by an incredibly long finish.

Boysenberry, cherry, mulberry and violet, tobacco, cedar and wet cinnamon, leather, smoke, and bramble. Rich palate shows black cherry, black currant, tobacco, dark toast, espresso, darkest chocolate, cassis, and graphite. Absolutely perfect now and likely later too! #chateaulascombes #lascombes #margaux #appellationmargauxcontrolée #bordeauxrouge #leftbank #deuxiemecru

2hr decant. Dark purple color. Nose has menthol, oak, and dark cherries. The merlot really shows through on the palate and in the texture. Drinking young. Really enjoyed it!

Tasted in March 2022. Decanted for an hour (a must in my opinion!). A complex and classic margaux with a very long finish. Delectable and a value buy for a relatively obscure second growth!

Decanted briefly as the first sip was already pleasant. It tastes young but very smooth and balanced. Dark fruit, fruity definitely, mildly earthy. Dark chocolate? must come back to this in a few years.
