Château Larcis Ducasse Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016 (1500ml)
The Gratiot family have owned Chateau Larcis Ducasse, a Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe,for over a century. The chateau's terroir of clay/limestone soils on a south-facing slope produces wonderfully ripe grapes which result in complex, well-structured wines with fresh,mineral flavors. The final blend aims to provide a balance between aroma and tannin to give a wine of unique character and once you experience the wine, you will see that this aim has been met.

Good wine but way to young and very primary. Almost carbonic. The 05 was my favorite vintage of Larcis and I would love to see this wine in a decade or more but today it was pretty simple

First one that’s a little lean and thin. Beautiful ripe fruit with good acidity but, lacks structure and tannins. Still great acidity and easy to drink.

Was pleasantly surprised how good this was. Deep flavours, complex and highly enjoyable. €60 is also a very fair price.

Dark berries and five spice powder with hints of peppered beef jerky on the nose. Soft smooth mouthfeel feel, tannins have some lean muscle that lingers well, with dark cherry, mild blackberry and hints of Szechuan peppered lightly smoked meats on the palate. Well done, probably could do with a few years of cellaring.
