Elegance is the one word that should be used to describe the 2006 Haut Brion. The aromas, initially reserved, opens up softly and slowly. Notes of minerals are followed by red berries, which segue into earthy notes dominated by fresh ground coffee beans. On the palate, the wine is silky and velvety complemented by suave tannins whose freshness carries them along to an unending length.
