Steak wine. Allen Brothers comparison of Wagyu Ribcaps & Ribcovers. Both are ridiculous but, the Waqyu is like melted butter with just the right of creamy fat over the top. The Figeau is better than critically advertised. Ripe, creamy raspberries, blackberries, black plums, dark cherries, dark chocolate, dark spice, mocha, limestone, river stone, dark, rich earth, earth, tobacco, leather, cedar to saddle-wood, moist clay, graphite, toasted barrel shavings, dark, withering, blue @ purple florals. Acidity for days. The finish shows great tension, structure, length & balance. The best is yet to come. The finish is, ripe, candied, floral, dark cola, well knitted & balanced persisting several minutes. Better in 7-8 years plus. For me, this is an hour & half meal meant to be savored. I was still enjoying long after everyone else was done.

The Cháteau Figeac is coming along beautifully and showing absolutely phenomenal after a decade in bottle. It instany begins to dazzle with its highly perfumed aromatics of ripe dark fruits which are surrounded by wet gravel, toasty oak and lovely nuances of tobacco leaf. On the palate this is displays a gorgeous supple texture with round polished tannins, which are nicely integrated. Showing a wonderful combination of power and class, this continues to impress with its mouth-watering acidity and layers of ripe blackberries, black cherries, crushed mint and roasted coffee flavors that continue to build and leave a lasting impression. Completely compelling now, the 2005 has only just begun to hit its stride, and should continue to provide years of drinking pleasure ahead. Drink 2019-2040- 95

Bold graphite and milk chocolate, red fruit led a seamless and silky palate that was simply the essence of yummy. A few more years to go but less than 5.

A bit heavy on Brett in 2005 to allow the wine to express the glorious fruit and structure that's there. Too bad, this would have sung.

One of the best SE I've had, especially for the price, but my son said it lacks a bit of contextual depth.

Still grippy and bright. I think the reputation outpaces the actual wine a bit. Very enjoyable, but I also didn't have to buy it.
