Black and blue fruit, ripe fruit with cigar and cedar, vanilla and baking spices with some bell pepper and mint..i bet next day it would be even better, but was gone!

Nice dry wine. Big firm tannins with lots of black cherry. Remarkably clean nose without the typical barnyard nose characteristic of many French wines. I think you’ll enjoy it. Would pair well with a nice steak

Readers will find a rich, flamboyant wine in the 2016 Barde-Haut. There is not a ton of subtlety here, but I am not sure that matters all that much given how immensely pleasing the 2016 is. Crushed rocks, graphite, lavender, blackberry, plum, and violet infuse a Saint-Émilion that offers tremendous textural richness as well as vibrancy. Most importantly of all, the 2016 is flat-out delicious. This is a decidedly opulent, dark Saint-Émilion with all of the elements impeccably balanced. I loved it. Chateau is a 17 hectare estate located at the extreme east of the village of Saint-Emilion. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc with rich aromas of red fruits and spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, currants and ripe blackberry with notes of tobacco, leather and sweet spice. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and subtle spice. Very Nice.

On the nose; sweet, dark cassis. Ripe blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, baking spices and fresh dark floral bouquet. Still fresh. The fruits are; ruby, ripe cassis, black raspberries, black plum & black raspberries. Tarry notes, rich dark soils, vanilla, dry crushed rocks, dry top soil, round acidity and a lush, elegant finish. Barrel sample of the 2016 vintage brought from Bordeaux.

Last night I opened the 2016 Château Barde-Haut Saint Emilion Grand Cru. What an exquisite Right Bank Bordeaux a blend of 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc. The nose has fragrant aromas of black cherry, black plum, black raspberry, fig, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and damp earth. The palate show luscious notes of black cherry, raspberry, green bell pepper, plum, herbaceous notes, black currant and crushed rock. This wine is medium to full bodied, well balanced, rich fruited mouthfeel with medium + acidity and medium + fine tannins that lead into a black fruit finish. Again we are all preoccupied by the goings on of the events of the last several weeks that seem to be turning everyone into weak minded individuals. Please be strong, go about your lives as normal and most of all stay safe. Enjoy your wine and be good to each other. Nostrovia!

Drinking too young. More Napa Cab Franc than Bordeaux right now. Medicinal flavors with dark cherries. Medium plus depth and finish.

Deep purple. Black licorice on nose. Plums, currants, violet. Nice acidity. Had with Brasserie French onion soup and roast chicken. Making room in the cellar.
