Arista Winery was founded by the McWilliams family in 2002 with a mission to create the most elegant expressions of Russian River Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The winery is committed to sustainable farming practices of its estate vineyards and works closely with local growers who share their dedication to sustainability in their own vineyards. Today, winemaker Matt Courtney crafts small-lot, site-driven wines that authentically reflect the unique sites from which they come.

The 2016 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is one of the more linear wines in this range, relatively speaking. Lemon confit, white flowers, mint and white pepper give the wine a super-distinctive upper register. Aromatic, bright and focused, the Ritchie is refined and loaded with real personality. So much going on in the glass. It’s all at once fresh and lifted by great acidity while also showing notes of honeycrisp apple and brioche. Finishes long with a nice toast on the end. Just delicious.
