Paolo Scavino Cannubi Barolo Nebbiolo 2011
Cannubi is probably the most historical vineyard of the all Barolo region, in Barolo village. We vinify this cru from 1985 and this is one of the two oldest vineyards of ours planted in 1946 on the central crest of Cannubi hill. Low yield of this vineyard is due to a special combination of natural factors one of which is the old age of the vines assuring a unique quality. The Cannubi is expressed with an amazing concentration and richness where the charm of Nebbiolo is fully expressed. Harmonious and very fine texture.

Nice balance of earth and fruit with a relatively elegant feel while still solidly a Barolo. Fruits more on the red/cherry side. I get fennel, graphites and minerals in the savory undertones which are intriguing. It's best years are likely ahead.
