Comm. G.B. Burlotto Vigneto Monvigliero Barolo Nebbiolo 2011
Established in 1850 by Giovan Battista Burlotto, aka The Commendatore, presently G.B. Burlotto is a family run estate. Burlotto owns 15 hectares of vineyards at 280 to 360 meters elevation, located near the river Tanaro in Verduno, the northern most estate in Barolo. Their wine production includes elegant and profound wines now considered among the very finest in Piedmont.

One of the hotter vintages so it's tasting pretty good despite the youth. Soft tannins, great red berry fruit flavors, soft tobacco and elegant acidity. I could drink this all night.

Despite coming from an extremely hot growing season, this fragrant pleases from the start with a floral hint. Little hint of cherry and long silky finish. Beautiful juice that, like many Piedmonte wine, is quite Burgundian in character.
