Domaine Saint Préfert Collection Charles Giraud Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2014

The Saint Prefert Collection Charles Giraud is the signature expression of the Domaine. It's sourced from 60-100 year old Grenache and Mourvedre vines that grow in soils consisting primarily of rock, gravel and stones. Over the decades these poor soils have forced the vines to dig deep for nutrients, which only adds to the depth of fruit and detail found in the completed wine. In the winery the bunches are left intact through fermentation, and the resulting wine is further refined in neutral barrels for eighteen months before bottling.As a result, vintage after vintage, the Collection Charles Giraud is among the top wines coming out of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
