Louis Roederer Cristal Brut Champagne Chardonnay Pinot Noir Blend 2006

Cristal is a remarkably balanced and refined champagne whose length is inimitable. It has a silky texture and fruity aromas, complemented by a powerful mineral quality with white fruit and citrus notes. Cristal is a wine that keeps well: it can be conserved for over twenty years without losing its freshness and character. The 2006 Cristal exhibits rich aromas consisting of confit fruit (lemon, orange), white flowers (lilies) and lightly roasted nuts (hazelnuts and almonds). Upon airing, the dominant fruitiness becomes intense, almost explosive: a sabayon of vine peaches, apricots, melon and mango. On the palate, the wine is opulent with a bountiful flavor of fruit which segues into a graceful freshness. Due to the freshness and mineral quality, the wine has the characteristics of ripeness, softness and full concentration which provide the wine with a citrus flavor. The wine is greatly balanced as all the elements consist in all the right proportions.
