Cali-ripe pinot fruit with cherries, plums and blueberries. Medium bodied and medium acid with a bitter herbal finish. No flaws but a little clunky.. not a whole lot of excitement.

Right off the bat would guess well-made Oregon Pinot. Fruit in the background here. Mulch, forest floor, & some fungus. Red fruit buried in the mulch. Nice spice on the palate. Really starts to open up after being open for about an hour.

The 2017 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is a gorgeous appellation wine that punches well above its weight. Then again, most of the fruit is from Domaine de la Côte, with a healthy dollop (20%) of grapes from Sanford & Benedict. Dark cherry, plum, spice, licorice and menthol infuse this radiant Pinot with tremendous fruit density and power. Dark cherry, plum, licorice and spice are pushed forward. There is so much to like. Vibrant medium ruby with magenta hues; pronounced intensity aromas of ripe red cherry, ripe strawberry, strawberry jam, red plum reduction, mushroom, wet earth, subtle sweet spices, star anise; dry, medium plus acid, medium minus tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, pronounced intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium finish, ripe fruit well balanced with structure, classic pinot flavors with some extra ripeness, well made, very good

Cherry. Decent body. Pretty acditic red. Got a little tobacco

Usually like these wines but this didn’t rate for me. Extra ripe, dark cherry cola flavors. Herbal finish with wood poking through. Maybe just in an awkward place, but felt disjointed and lacked balance.

Deep ruby color, medium bouquet, medium plus body, jammy, smooth with some tannins and a touch of earth. Black plum & cherry, some spice as well. Very nice. A good find!

Certainly have a soft spot for Raj Parr but this is a very nice Pinot, especially for the price. Probably would have guessed Oregon blind. Definitely one to give some air and follow its evolution, though it’s good at varied stages along the way. Lots of earthiness, but the darkish red fruits and some spice really shine through. A bit less acid on the finish than I tend to look for but still a balanced and delicious wine.
