Grew on me. A touch petillant. With air, peaches. Hint of grapefruit.

Another solid entry-level Pieropan wine. The focus and minerality are there. Tremendous freshness, tight core of lemon and spiced pear with a slightly salty finish. A bit more subtle and delicate than prior vintages I’ve tasted.

This Soave blends savory and sweet with a spicy flair. It’s soft and pliant upon entry, yet enlivened by salty minerals and brisk acids, making for a wonderfully balanced showing. The palate sizzles with residual tension, as hints of sour citrus resonate throughout the finale. $19.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, February 2021)

Lovely, especially for the price. Round and mouth-coating, with a lovely mix of sweet and savory notes. Musky on the nose. Exotic melon and apple on the attack, green almond and hay kick in in the back end. Waxy texture, crunchy finish. Great with charcuterie.

Pears, apricots, lemons and limes, some minerality, maybe leechee nuts and honey.

Great slate upfront taste with lychee and apple fruit aftertaste. Had this with fire grilled mackerel with leek, cabbage and zucchini sautéed in extra virgin olive oil. Made for a great pairing.
