This remains one of the greatest white dry wines of France although probably not for everybody. Every year is a surprise and that inconsistency can be off-putting. Golden color, medium weight, quite high in alcohol (14.5) and cloudy. Long burn, apricot, dried raisins, apple and pineapple.

Medium gold, the nose explodes with precise aromas of honeysuckle, jasmine, lemon balm, white peach, bruised apple, nectarine, orange zest, pineapple, crushed rocks and a pinch of matcha. Bone dry and full-bodied, with a soft texture and bracing acidity, the 2020 Clos de la Coulée de Serrant from grand master Nicolas Joly closes with a long, lingering finish. This energetic wine is heavily loaded with fruit concentration and still captures a striking freshness. Spectacular! Drink now until 2050.
