Typical Gruet. Always really nice, especially for the price.

NOSE: bright, clear citrus (lemon, a little orange), pineapple, sweet nuts, sweet cream, and a dash of sea water. Smells very inviting. TASTE: good! Balanced, fresh citrus, now with lime in addition to the flavors on the nose. Some nice minerals, though the citrus is much more prominent. Small bubbles. Bitter orange zest on the finish. This is good! 90.

New Mexico? Really?? Not bad at all- starts out a bit brut but ends with a touch of slight sweetness. Hard to believe but a steal for the price.

We’ve been on a Gruet + sushi kick lately, and I’m not mad about it

Gruet is my go-to producer for last-minute, no-special-occasion (i.e. just for something to go with sushi tonight) bubbles...love the QPR.
