On the palate sweet cherry, blackberry and blueberry fruit, with savory oak & cacao notes. Tannins were smooth but tight, with an earthy herb touch on the long finish. This is a nicely executed big Napa cab: big and jammy out of the gate, and with a walloping 15% ABV. The tannins are under control, which may mean that this doesn’t have quite as much aging potential. There are better cabs at this price point: both bigger, bombier ones and more restrained ones with more tension and sense of place.
