Popped and poured. Dark ruby in color with hardly a visual sign of age other than some sediment in the bottle. On the nose, there’s a ton of leather and mothballed wardrobe…like stepping into an old haberdashery. Dark tart cherry fruit, mushrooms and earth. The acid has done a very fine job keeping this wine full of energy the last 25+ years. The tannin now fully integrated. A lovely bottle that is drinking well in the sunset of its life. A fabulous pairing with Cacciucco. Drink now.

A library release from the Félsina cellars. The dark cherry fruit is now accompanied by secondary notes of leather, earth, mushroom, wet fallen log...and it’s all very charming right now. Beautifully balanced. Decanted for about an hour prior. Rather remarkably, it seemed to become more alive as we finished the bottle. A fantastic pairing with the smoked chicken and pasta salad. Well stored examples should deliver pleasure for several years to come.

Pretty good, especially for an 18 year old Chianti Classico. Leather, plum, tobacco leaf, earthy and dusty forest floor. The palate adds anise with an east going to medium finish. Don't wait as it likely won't get much better. #OLDwine #felsina

Bitter finish mars an otherwise lovely Sangiovese. Excellent with chicken cacciatore, hard to finish afterwards though. The bitter plum and old leather are nice though.

Great bottle. Still a bit of tannin but mostly resolved. Red fruits and dusty.

That sangio bite alive and well, complimented by plenty of balsamy earthy complexity. A sleek yet noble and austere finish is the cherry on top..
