Needed time in the glass. Solid value. Tannins from both grapes play well together giving depth and interest without being overbearing. Pleasant mouth feel and the right amount of acidity. I can understand why this is a staple.

Unapologetically big and expressive on the nose with ripe plum, black currant, fig, alcohol, and earthy elements. Vivid acidity and dark chocolate sweet and bitterness leads to very firm tannins. Should evolved nicely in the bottle for another 4-5 years. Tasted better the 2nd day.

20170323 Watson's Cellar w21092w fr w22392w JH 90; Bob Campbell 92 20170330 Paired with m&s mat ball, sausage, puff Taste : medium to full body, not complicated, open with alcohol, Grenache, then black current, changes fast yet okay. Tasting Note:Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 D'Arry's Original Shiraz / Grenache reveals an intensely scented nose of crushed black berries and blueberries with touches of pepper, dark chocolate and spice cake. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the mouth with expressive black fruit and spice box flavors with a good amount of texture and freshness to support, finishing long and relatively uncomplicated. RP

Shitload of alcohol coming through on both the nose and palate here. Completely different wine stylistically compared to some of D-bergs other wines. Made in a much more approachable style for the larger consumer base. Notes of forest berries, pencil shavings, cherries, chocolate and raisins
