Château Clinet Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Pure currant fruit with a hint of bell pepper, it is showing a little thin in the center as the tannin briefly overwhelms the fruit before the fruit reasserts itself on the finish. The middle fills in with air, it is a beautifully classic wine with a long life ahead.

This is quite an impressive juice, lovely bouquet of vanille and Provençal herbs like lavender. I love the length of the wine, soft and delicate with fine tannins.

Wonderful wine at the château during our morning visit. Big tannins but amazingly approachable. The cab makes this wine much “bigger” than many pomerols.

Another beautiful evening over stunning views, this time with a right bank Pomerol. Château Clinet has done a great job with this one. Mix of red and dark fruit, slighty favouring the red/wild fruit variety. Healthy amount of red currant flavour. Some mild vanilla and toffee. The right bank wines really have a smooth finish without lingering tannin (from the merlot and sans cab). The complex fruit flavours persist but don’t overwhelm, inviting you to continue enjoying the moment. Nice change of pace.

Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, strawberry, vanilla and currant. On the palate, leather, currant, bitter, highly tannic. Very young. Floral finish.
