Hugely concentrated for sure, but too much so for me. Ridiculous cherry liqueur and rose nose, almost painful concentration, but a bit too much wood and heat on finish for me. Too young as well, but lacked the complexity, balance and elegance of other baroli half the cost and less...not worth it, or even close at $260. 2008 vintage.

This was infanticide and just nowhere close to being ready to pop. Voerzio is maligned by some for its modern style but I think they do what they do very well....but this is just a baby. Shut down totally and no marked evolution after a 2 hour decant. No rating.

Opened and decanted 1.5 hours before dinner. Probably not long enough. Nose is pure milk chocolate and then first sip is smooth but gripping tannins that made my mouth so dry I was stunned. This benefited from the rich meatballs in sauce meal and then really shined with the food. Just delicious.

Dark robe with plum, licorice, dark berries, spices and crushed flowers, this is a stunner of a wine in its best form. We bought a case and see big variation between bottles. This one was outstanding and a great tasting experience. Wow !

We normally prefer more classical Barolo but Voerzio is a notable exception. His 2008 Cerequio is drinking really well now but has potential for many more years in the cellar. Crushed flowers, licorice, dark fruits and good balance with mature and civilized tannins. Drink or hold. Recommended.
