2013 vintage. What a mess. Pours a dark, inky purple. Over extracted and flabby. Stains the glass, teeth, skin, and anything else it contacts. Sweet too. Gallo "engineers" these wines to a taste profile. I'll pass.

This wine is thick and dark. Smells rich and full bodied like most cabs. Has a cool name. Surprisingly citrusy on the first sip. I really was not expecting that. Not nearly as rich and meaty as the name seems to imply, although the after taste is deep and rich, the first flavors I notice strongly are light and orangey. I do get a little smoke and tobacco, but I think this wine would be over whelmed by any overly seasoned meat. There is a strong bing cherry flavor as well. I notice the cherry the more I drink it, which is rather pleasant. It is smooth as the label suggests, but also tart. Too bad I did not save this for my chocolate dessert. Considering that I paid more then the price suggested here I would say this is a good wine, had I paid ten I would say it is an outstanding wine. This wine does get extra points for the cool name and the free poster. More wines should come with free swag.

An easy Cab to drink, not dry like cabs can be sometimes be. Fairly versatile for meat and pork dishes and excellent with dark chocolate. Rich, purple color-be careful of stains!

First pour was too dark and too thick. Didn’t look like a cab. More like a thick Welches Grape Juice. It had a lot of grape sweet dark flavor to it. Stained my teeth and lips. Too sweet and dark for me. Not dry enough.
