Замша, минеральность, вишневая косточка. Довольно брутально. Танины выраженные, но уже достаточно зрелые. 16.5/20 (91/100)

A touch young with youthful waxiness should have waited 5 or more years.

Very balanced. Still drinking very young. Tea leaves, cherry, earthy old world tones.

We had the 2006 Vintage on 1/30-31/21. Dark garnet in color. Black cherry and mushrooms on the bouquet. Black cherry, leather and tea on the palate. Medium bodied wine with a smooth finish. Tannins smoothed out in an hour.

...typical Brunello smell & taste with great balance and finesse of warm cherries, blackfruit, truffle, herbs, soggy earth and very nice acidity. No powerhouse but a smooth and silk glass of wine!

What was meant to be a casual dinner with friends over homemade BLTs ended up turning into a full-blown wine dinner. . Cinnamon-dusted cherries, dusty attic, licorice, and dried tobacco leaves. Our hosts grabbed this bottle during their most recent trip to Italy. Very grateful they opened it

Peaking earlier than expected given other Col d'Os, but pretty, feminine and great value nonetheless. Tobacco, woodsy cherry and light spice. On the lighter side of Brunello. Drink up.

I don't think the '06 Col D'Orcia has reached its peak yet. But the big debate - do BdM's age well? I think they do. Opened 3 hours ago and finally coming alive. Dark, brooding, big tannins, yielding black tea, leather, gun powder, even meat. Fruit buried deep beneath but finally starting to pop now, prunes, sour cherries, dark berries. Notes of cedar with dark fruit on the nose. Complex and layered. This is bottle 3 of 5 for me, last one was in 2013. I think still will evolve for years to come.

Celebrating my son's '06 birthday (at least his parents were...). Medium weight and lighter side of Brunello, smokey cherry and cedar nose. Taut tobacco and light spice, sour cherry hints. Perfect now, started to give up after 3 hrs so don't wait too much longer.
