...opens with a very clear, deep, intense and mineral nose of crushed stones along with refreshing lemon and grapefruit aromas. Sweet and lush on the palate, this is a very elegant, super piquant, pure and mineral Auslese that is significantly sweeter. It finishes with a lovely, pure, clear and salty finish that gives tension and a certain dry sensation on the palate. This is a great Schlossberg and its firm and tension-filled structure gives it great aging potential. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

JL Selbach tasting 11/16/17. Lowest part of Schlossberg. Very sweet abs honeyed great floral nose and sunshine and warmth. Good body abs long honeyed complex finish. Traditional method of picking on just one day rather than passes based on ripeness. Yum.

Pear and rich, ripe stone fruit. Fairly complex. Good intensity and focus. Will be better in 15 years as fruit fades and acidity becomes more prominent I think.
