The 2018 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is a glorious wine. A burst of sweet red/purplish fruit makes a strong opening statement that reverberates off layers of savory and floral intensity. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2018 packs a serious punch. Readers who want to get a sense of the year would do well to start here. This striking appellation-level Pinot is one of the overachievers of the year. Then again, vineyard sites are Domaine de La Côte and Sanford & Benedict, which was not bottled separately, but used for wine. The 30% whole clusters are perfectly judged. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2020)

Lovely Chardonnay. Full body, lush flavors of lemon, honey, and minerals. Nice acidity.

Nose is impressive right out of the gate. Sugary cola, light florals, a touch of vanilla and subtle strawberry compote hidden underneath it all. Palate is much juicier and fruity, pure red fruit and a bit of tea that lingers on. Great stuff

January 2021. Happy new year pinot tasting w/Caitlin. Then got more. So good. Smells of cranberry, red licorice, vanilla, and a hint of mint. Tastes like tart cranberry and vanilla. Complex wine, long finish. So yummy.

Trendy in that it is the 'fruit forward' type of wine that is gaining popularity these days. This wine delivers a nice berry punch, a slight peppery taste underneath. But may not be the more universal pinot food pairing that some might expect. The wine delivers on its own. A charcuterie plate, or pork with a bit of spice. Something that the wine won't drown out with it's own power. A little air to help it develop, but not to much.

Delightful Pinot. Less fruity, more tannic, and funkier than many. Dry. Tasty. Light berry flavor with some spice.
