The 2004 Dom Ruinart is just as brilliant and viscerally thrilling as it has always been.Tightly coiled and exceptionally beautiful, the 2004 boasts fabulous intensity, class and pedigree. The flavors are vibrant, chiseled and crystalline in their precision. Time in bottle is doing wonders for the 2004. This is a tremendous showing. Disgorged June 2013. Drink: 2015-2034. This just gets better with every release, a little leaner than the '02, but that's indicative of the vintage, really loving the reductive high toned citrus quality to it, magical wine.

Nice to see Ruinard back on track. Yet another proof that 2004 was brilliant for Chardonnay.

The same wine I had in December has settled into its more natural and elegant state you expect. The perfect blend of power, precision and elegance, deeply tense and off the charts length. A Blanc de blancs all its own that has seen 10 years on the lees with no oak after the first fermentation. 2002 is still a clip better at this stage same stage as the 2004, but just a hair. This may have more nerve to go further however.
