Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

$289

The flagship 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon contains 3% Merlot. This multi-dimensional offering surrenders an inviting bouquet of sandalwood, Asian spices, violets, truffle, black currant, and blackberry. Seamless on the palate with no hard edges, it is mouth-coating, powerful, and exceptionally light on its feet all at the same time. Impeccably balanced and with plenty of fine-grained tannin in the background, it should effortlessly achieve its 30th birthday. The entire portfolio is a tour de force! Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Very deep crimson in colour. Savoury aromatic black plum notes. Medium to full bodied with medium plus intensity. The feature of this wine is the supple silky palate. There are some oaky nuances but altogether well integrated. As I have said in previous notes regarding Quilceda Creek it does not have particularly Cabernet descriptors and to be honest not sure I would pick it as a Cabernet in a blind tasting , but, as always, it remains a wonderful red wine. Next one in 2 to 3 years.

Shafer and Colgin stole the show, but this wine will go the distance.

Baked blackberries, black plum, dark cherries, ripe strawberries paint the background, black raspberries, spice-box, nutmeg, unbelievable soft fine minerals, rich black but dry earth, a touch of black tar and an elegant rich long finish you won't forget. If you thought Washington couldn't rival Napa Cabernet, you need to try this wine, Leonetti or any another fine producer of Washington Cabernet. Still needs another 5 years in bottle.

Still a baby. Needed a long time to open up but was fantastic when it did.

The 2007 is drinking beautifully right now, with deep dark fruits, an excellent supporting structure and an smooth and outstanding finish. Exceptional. 2007 vintage.

Fantastic WA State Cabernet! In its prime drinking window, this wine sings with savory dark fruits and.an exceptional finish. Great with the ribeye steaks we were having.

Aerated on the way into decanter, but only been open about an hour, will update later after open longer. Pronounced graphite, blackberry, cassis, silky baby powder tannins, soft finish, but alcohol heat comes with it. Not 100, sorry RP, it doesn't make me cry tears of joy. However, I have confidence this big, domestic red will assist the Caps once again tonight! #rockthered #caps #letsgocaps Follow up: apparently it hasn't helped, ha! Get some dust and licorice now, but also an odd very green chemically pyrazine aroma and taste now too. Not green pepper. Odd green note. Makes me think of a bottle of 02 (i think) a bunch of us had blind a while ago...no one even picked it as cab. This now reminds me of that bottle @Joe Tucker rating reflects that
