The Barbaresco Riserva Montefico shows all the energy and focus that is typical of this great site... Bright saline-infused notes lead to wild flowers and an exotic melange of red fruits in this beautifully delineated, vivid Barbaresco. All the elements are simply in the right place. Enjoying the nerve and austerity of this Montefico, there’s plenty of fruit beginning to express a tertiary side, all backed up by the grippy tannin and firm mineral core. Lifted nose, dried orange peel, crushed mint, dried black cherry, peppercorn, earth, some leathery VA.

Oct 2023: 10 y.o., first try. Still very tight, strong tannins and classic beautiful nose, not many signs of tertiaries yet. Far less approachable after 5 hours in decanter as compared to another traditionally styled Barbaresco Riserva 2013 of a less known winemaker, open together and started singing after 2 hours in open bottle. The wine built to last and please connoisseurs, 91 pts for know with great potential up to 93-94 pts some day, will give a new try in a few years

DeeeLish! Definitely a delicate version of Nebbiolo. Great nose. Medium tannins. Nice fruit. But not as fruit forward as the Elio Altare we also had at dinner. I need to try more of his single vineyard wines.

Should have waited a few more years before opening, but it was a rough day
