From one of my favorite sites (because of its similarity to a top vintage of La Mission Haut Brion), the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard exhibits classic notes of burning embers, hot gravel, steel, blueberries, flowers and blackberries followed by an intense, full-bodied, profoundly concentrated wine. This riveting effort should drink nicely for 25+ years... This profound Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is as grand as the 2007. Robert Parker

Our monthly 4th Friday event at the storage facility. No requirements, just wine you want to share with others! Always an enjoyable time. I think I prefer Dr Crane over To-Kalon fruit. The sheer raw power of Dr Crane alongside the smoky, cocoa, dark chocolate notes make this wine divine. Pulled out the '06 a few months ago and it's hard to tell them apart! Thanks Joe!

09' Paul Hobbs Beckstoffer Dr. crane. Decanted for an hour ( needed).Dense, inky, Black & Red fruits. Smoky tobacco, sweet vanilla. Classic elegance and finesse of a Paul Hobbs. Can't miss wine. 8/10 great years in it. What to thank Brain For an amazing night.

Whew, I had one of these 6 months ago on our annual Deer Valley ski trip and was very disappointed (rated 8.9). As suspected, that was an off bottle. This wine is simply outstanding. Great nose, lots of black fruit, terrific balance, depth and nuance.

Hmmm, this is the first time that I have been disappointed with a Paul Hobbs wine. I certainly had high expectations but clearly something went wrong with this bottle (hopefully it is a one off but I am skeptical). I have had this 6 pack owc in my cellar since it’s release. Well the wine had absolutely no depth or finish that I expect from it’s pedigree. I will wait a couple weeks and crack another.
