Drinkward Peschon "Entre Deux Mères" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

$69.95

...deep garnet-purple colored and decadently scented of preserved plums, chocolate box and blueberry pie with nuances of violets, pencil lead and bay leaves. Full-bodied and completely packed with muscular fruit, it has a solid frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and layered. 710 cases produced. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Entre Deux Mères is a gorgeous, inviting wine. Blackberry jam, lavender, spice, menthol and licorice are all pushed forward in this racy, succulent Cabernet Sauvignon. Touches of rose petal, mint and lavender add further shades of nuance over time. The 2015 spent 22 months in oak, 50% new. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2019)

This is a dark profiled, very giving, somewhat complex, medium bodied wine that is utterly distinctly Napa Cab, in the best way possible. Decent value too.

A rare baby killing for me. This was excellent on Day 2, a bit too mushy and sweet for me on opening yesterday but now more complex, compact and tannic, with gobs of cassis and an enveloping midpalate and long finish with bits of chalk. Lovely wine, just give it some time.
