The wine has an opaque blue/black color and abundant notes of forest floor, spring flowers, black raspberry and blueberry liqueur in the aromatics along with hints of espresso and white chocolate. The wine is dense, full, rich, unctuously textured and very full-bodied...drink it over the following 30-40 years. Robert Parker

Monthly WTF guys blind tasting group. This month was our annual, and famed, Left Bank vs Right Bank theme. All wines served blind as usual. Started off with a Rosé and a champagne. Great night. I really enjoyed this. Haven’t had any wines from this producer before. The aromatics covered the entire fruit spectrum (red, blue and black) alongside nutmeg and birch wood. Full bodied...fig, tar, baking spices on the palate. Delicious now. I called this ‘10 Right Bank.

Wow - Blackberry, black cherry, cigar box. baking spice, mushroom. Tannins softened out quite nicely and acidity still very present. Silky smooth and a pleasure to drink even out of a cheap glass on a flight to Pittsburgh.

This wine still needs time in the bottle... perhaps another two years. But nonetheless it is a compelling, classy Clos Fourtet with a great future ahead of it (but to be clear it's not an infanticide to drink it now). For comparison purposes, I had the 2003 early this year (a wine from a very warm vintage) and it was singing in full harmony, clearly a 97+ wine. The 2010 is not there yet, but it certainly has the structure to get there, even perhaps surpass the 2003. You just need to be patient, if you can...

Full rich extravagant flavor. Hints of chocolate and espresso. Needs 5 more years and it will be an amazing wine. It's still a good wine. A little earthy for me
