Clarendon Hills Astralis Syrah 2010

$275

...aromas of black plums, blueberry compote and blackcurrant liqueur with a savory and baking spice undercurrent plus a fragrant whiff of violets. Very structured, fine and complex in the medium to full-bodied mouth, this wine is revealing much more than when I first tasted it a year ago and is now showing layer upon layer of black fruit preserves, mocha, toast and spices before finishing with great length. Extraordinary wine. Approachable now, it should cellar to 2030+ Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Graciously shared by my friend and thoroughly enjoyed. Globs of dark fruit and incredibly well structured. Incredible nose and a full lush mouthfeel. Thanks Dave!

Much better than the first bottle I had a while ago. Will store the remaining bottles for a few more years. Much smoother now and very enjoyable

The 2010 is supposed to a phenomenal year and this wine has sky high ratings. Initially I was disappointed and then decided to decant the wine which brought a marked improvement. Honestly it might have been best when I tasted it again the following day. Typical black berries, vanilla and oak. A lovely wine where I will cellar my remaining bottles for quite a few more years ... this wine should improve over time

2010 vintage. Lovely but a bit thin for what I am accustomed to from CH. well made - just not enough “Astralis” in this.

Big and opulent with lots of jammy fruit but it is not overdone. Balancing acidity. This is quite good!!!
