Bright red. Fresh raspberry and wild strawberry scents, with suave floral and baking spice qualities adding seductive complexity. Medium-bodied red fruit flavors boast superb balance and sweetness, picking up silky tannins on the long, sappy finish. There's really lovely perfume, finesse and clarity here, reminding me of a high-end Chambolle or Volnay. Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media

This is Chateauneuf-du-Pape? What a tremendous wine. Floral, olive, stems, smoke, charred meat, pepper, crushed berries, all took turns throughout the bouquet and palate. Silky yet lifted with ripe fruits and brisk acidity. Driven, bracing, and simply a gorgeous display. Long and haunting on the finish with hints of herbs and inner floral tones.

Second wine of Chateau Rayas. Unlike anything else I had from the southern Rhone before. Racy, intoxicating, smoked meat. Very pale colour. Spices attacked my palate and didn't let go for a while. So intense! Gamechanger. I want to experience more of this.

Most didn't love this but I thought it was very pretty. Super floral, subtle red fruit on the palate.

#2005 Tablée majoritairement sur le bouchon. A posteriori je dirais plutôt géosmine. Tristesse.

Without doubt the best Chateauneuf-du-pape I ever had! And this is only the second wine of Chateau Rayas! This 2005 is just perfectly balanced and ready to drink. Very very long finish with red fruit notes and pepper...
