The 2016 Prieuré-Lichine is all class. Floral, silky and nuanced to the core, the 2016 is a wine of pure and total seduction. Freshly cut flowers, vibrant red fruit and creamy tannins all add to the wine's undeniable allure. In 2016, Prieuré-Lichine is all class, not to mention one of the sleepers of the vintage. Don't miss it! Tasted two times." - Antonio Galloni

Deep, dark, ruby barely allowing light to penetrate the glass. Evidently full-bodied by its looks. Waning red fruit on the nose, giving way to dried flowers, fresh tobacco, and some brush. On the palate, cranberry, red currants, baking spices, perfumed by the floral notes. Alcohol seems higher that the reported 13.5. Acidity is perfect here at medium. Tannins also quite right. Very long pleasing finish. This is excellent, drink or hold. 94 points

A wine so good I understand why some people name there kids Margaux. Smooth, silky and just an incredibly smooth journey to France sip by lovely sip. Amazingly full of flavor yet light on the palette. Mature red fruit meets silky smooth finish. This is what bliss tastes like!

2016 vintage. Last tasted in May 2022. At that time, the wine had shed much of the baby fat and gone leaner bodied. Ummm…this bottle added the weight/body back on along with the overt fruit missing for the last year back into the hopper. The most Jekyll/Hyde BDX I’ve ever had the pleasure to taste multiple x’s. Have zero idea what to expect on the next visit but thinking it won’t be boring. 2.20.23

2016 vintage. Settling down and free of the flightiness of youth. Lots of tea notes and leaner than previous tastings.

2016 vintage. Body consistently amongst the best in all of Bordeaux. Dill, lavender and violets in the high nose. Sleek tannins from the get-go. This vintage shaping up to be special. Last tasted 3.2.22.

2016 vintage. Big dusty, violets and spearmint nose. Fantastic, velveteen-cloaked, medium body with nearly perfect acidity/tannins currently. Mid-palate rox on this wine right now. Light residual richness on the riding the waves finish. Not as scattered as the last visit in July 2021. Love both the 2015 and 2018 vintages of this wine but this 2016 vintage is super-classy. It is really starting to knit together. A great, introductory/transitional wine for someone looking to get into Bordeaux without breaking the bank. 3rd visit in 8 months and it's only getting better.

Oak, baking spices , nutmeg and coriander up front. Middle tones of earthy tobacco and overripe fig. Sage and eucalyptus. Just the right hint of smoke to tease you. Beautiful lush and silky tannins give way to beautiful fruit. Cassis and medium acidity. Great long lasting finish. At 13.5% this is absolutely perfect showing.
