Château Latour Le Pauillac de Chateau Latour Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

$145

The best Pauillac I ever tasted (and this wine has been a revelation ever since they first introduced it)...An amazingly opulent, round, delicious wine, and a great buy... it possesses wonderfully silky tannins, classic black currant, cedar wood and forest floor notes, and rich, full-bodied opulence as well as a terrific purity and palate presence. It should drink well for 10-15+ years. Robert Parker

Textbook example of balance and restraint. Wine of the night. Poise, balance, grace, and some. Cinnamon and cherries on the nose. Palate displays a smooth, supple presence. Finishes with black fruits, depth and robust tannins. This has years ahead of it. WOTN for all of us.

This has first growth pedigree written all over it. This parcel was released from Latour in 2016. I think this is their third bottling. Very solid effort.

I had this beauty at a wine tasting. Representing about 25% of their production, the wine is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc. Aromas of sweet dark berry fruits with complex aromas of spice and cedar. On the palate multiple layers of berry fruit, cherry and raspberry, leather, cacao and licorice. Silky smooth tannins, full-bodied, delicious, lingering finish. Hard to believe it’s their third label! Wow!!

Just an infant at this point but is a solid representation of its bigger brothers. All the elements are in this wine but they are so tightly wound it's going to take time and patience for this wine.

This is the third wine of Latour and not the $900 version. But it is quite good. Austere, tannic, with a gamey nose. The fruit is still inviting, with some plum and red fruit.
