Château Langoa Barton Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

$95

Wonderful aromas of licorice, crushed blackberry and mineral. Full-bodied, with very well-integrated tannins and vanilla, berry and aniseed flavors. Has a long, long finish... Wine Spectator

This was a great surprise. Although young, even this once-backward st Julien is rocking. Still super dark with loads of fruit. The tannins have resolved beautifully and I would recommend start drinking these or waiting about as long as you want. Seems like this will be drinking as it is today for many years. Lots of structure

This is just a stunning wine. 2005 is still just so young and absolutely gorgeous at the same time. The nose is almost the best part.. mushroom, leather, pencil box, dark chocolate, anise, grilled meat, and tobacco - classics of St Julien. The pallet is firm and full of flavor, no where near it's plateau! Exhibiting notes of black pluma, bruised red apple skins, white pepper & clove, and a still fresh blackberry finish that lingers forever. Need some more of this!

Black and red cherry, still has firm structure, but starting to flesh out. Tasty.

This is really good! Beautiful mixture of traditional Bordeaux secondary aromatics, powdery tannines, supporting refreshing acidity and modern-day fruit purity and cleanliness. Wonderful wine.

This Langoa is still in a slumber but beginning to wake up if forced....right bank 05s are a better pick for now but some left bank 05s are starting to open i am looking forward after all this time to see what they have in store
