Château La Conseillante Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2008
The beautiful 2008 exhibits a dark plum/ruby/purple color as well as jammy red and black fruit, crushed rock and floral notes. If this were a Burgundy, one might think of it as a grand cru Musigny. With excellent texture, medium to full body and stunning purity as well as nobility, this fascinating Pomerol should drink well for 15-20 years. Robert Parker

2008 vintage. Medium ruby and medium intensity of aroma of dull black fruits and dull oak / wood. Black plum and sweet spice (cinnamon and nutmeg) on palate. Tannins are medium and soft. Medium alcohol (13.3% Abv) medium plus acidity and medium plus length. The wine lacks personality, concentration and length relative to expectation. 86% merlot and 14% cab franc.

Great showing. Blackcurrant, flowers, cedar and a dollop of mint. Medium bodied, oh so elegant, fresh, balanced, bottle finishes and you keep asking for more. Drink or hold if you can. Very highly recommended !!!

Had 2008 vintage at the end of a right bank saint-Julien sequence culminating with a 2005 Ch. Leoville Barton..... it was interesting to see the influence of vintage verses against great wine houses. The 2005 was superior in terms of nose and structure.
