Château Duhart Milon Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot Blend 2010 (1500ml)
Dense purple, with classic notes of cedar and lead pencil shavings as well as gobs of black currants and licorice, the wine has a full-bodied mouthfeel with fabulous precision and density. It also possesses a long, silky finish with moderately high tannins, but they are ripe and well-integrated. The wood is clearly pushed to the background in this dense, full-bodied Pauillac, which should drink beautifully for 30+ years. Drink 2013-2043. Robert Parker

Dark cat peers seductively through a glass dimly. Ribbons of African violet, blackberry under cocoa nib, nutmeg, dark smooth stone, suede, ripe, unbroken black cherry, dried currant, poppyseed. Strong taste of black currant, black olive, tart cherry, fig, raisin, dried cranberry, tabak, and graphite-peppercorn protruding from a blackberry and violet concoction. Elegant with sinew. Very alive, and a bit young after all that. Opened my last 2010 bottle for my b’day! The 1855 classification recognized the quality of Duhart-Milon's soil by ranking it as the only 4th growth wine in Pauillac. A blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot. Had this twice in a year, it’s still nice! Wonderful red fruit aromas and subtle spice scents. On the palate blackberry and currants, pepper notes, tobacco and cacao, complex, generous acidity, silky tannins on a lingering finish ending with mineral notes, Wow!

Understated in a weak way. This just didn’t seem to ever get going. A bit dusty and underpowered. Modest tannins and adequate fruit with some cassis. Nothing was amiss but it was not something that made me eager for another sip.
