...exhibits a dense ruby/plum/garnet color to the rim as well as a sweet perfume of forest floor, spice box, cedar, and copious quantities of black fruits. Medium to full-bodied and beautifully pure with sweet tannins, this wine has aged more slowly than I initially expected. It is the finest Ducru Beaucaillou produced after the 1961 and before the 2003... Robert Parker

Dried earthy, smoky goodness... Still some ripeness to the fruit, silky smooth

Like the '82 Gruaud, the nose isn't there. Palate is fantastic though. Textured, long, powerful. Dark fruit, pretty spice.

This '82 was one of my epiphany wines around 15 years ago, in the midst of all the Aussie Shiraz this highlight arose, it started me down this quite interesting journey. This bottle was stored impeccably, still has a great mid-palate intensity, but it's all dried out black fruit & dark flowers now. Dried black tea & cigar leaf.
