Château Beychevelle Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

$179

The Beychevelle 2010 displays very good intensity on the nose with dark berries, a touch of Dorset plum and an almost Margaux-like floral element. The palate is full-bodied, certainly a very powerful Saint Julien that reminds me of Ducru Beaucaillou. Enormous structure on the palate, silky smooth tannins, very nice symmetry with notes of blackberry, cedar and a touch of allspice. The rounded finish belies the backbone underneath although you can feel the grip on the aftertaste. This is as good as the 2009, but more masculine and will need longer to reach its plateau... eRobertParker.com (Neal Martin)

I was a little disappointed. There could be more depth and richness. Overall it is certainly very danceable

Floral nose with blue and black fruit. Medium body and classic high tannins, but the tannins are round and well integrated. Bright acidity and sustained length suggests improvement with aging for 15 more years.

Bold tannis and rich steeped dark fruits with hints of cedar. Great year.

Way fruiter than I expected for a Bordeaux, very plush velvet body....regretfully we didn’t decant, crazy amount of sediment in this 2010

Took plenty of decanting but eventually evolved into a surprisingly mature tasting Saint Julien with jammy notes. Loved it.

Wife goes to the spa, I go the cellar. This is an amazing blend! Elegant, black fruits, licorice, spices, and a long long finish mix
