Calera Central Coast Pinot Noir 2014

8.934 ratings on Delectable
$24.99

The 2014 Pinot Noir (Central Coast) is both impeccable and absolutely delicious. Sweet, floral and open-knit, the Central Coast is also a fabulous introduction to the Calera house style. Beautifully perfumed and gracious, the 2014 offers striking aromatics and plenty of bright fruit to match its mid-weight, chiseled personality. Drink it over the next few years. Potpourri, dried rose petal, light herbs, cranberry, cranberry, cranberry! Med body, velvety, nice lingering finish.

Auditioning new wines for the everyday Pinot shelf at the house. Not bad.

A determined and honest Pinot Noir that makes up in purity for what it lacks in complexity. Ripe cranberry, squeezed citrus, freshly cut flowers, and newly tilled earth, with a scattered handful of spices.

singular pinot aroma, nice complexity (7 vineyards), light, drinkable on its own, hint of acidity, leans more towards fruit - CA pinot, $33 uncorked

A consistently fine Pinot every year. Nice depth as always.

A bit orangeish? Due to lightning effect? Sweet sour aroma, strawberry flavor. Over time or temperature rise?, it turned to be much smooth. Completely no rough taste. It is good to match with Japanese cuisine like Sushi. @1550, Breeze-TNo, 170709-170812

Smooth blend of flavors with distinct punches from each on each taster, favoring neither CA, OR or otherwise. Really enjoyed!

Light in color, but full bodied and tannic. More of the red fruits in this vintage. Improving with air time. Went well with our tuna conserva dinner. Will age some.

Producer: Calera. Pinot Nior. Central Coast. 2014. Color: Red tint, low to medium viscosity. smell black fruit with aged wood, perhaps a vanilla scent. When I tasted it, I felt it more in the middle of the tongue. Higher acidity and alcohol, lower in sweetness and tannin. Conclusion: this was ok for me.
