Calder Wine Company Napa Valley Charbono 2011
...The wine offers up superb precision and complexity in the nose, wafting from the glass in a melance of black cherries, cassis, woodsmoke, dark soil tones, a bit of cola and coffee bean. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely chewy, with a fine core, ripe tannins and a long, complex and robust finish. This is a terrific throwback style of wine and while it is quite drinkable now with a bit of air, it will be even better with a couple of years of bottle age. Fine juice. 2014-2030+.
